About Lisa Lindsey and Peale Piper
Small & medium organizations need experienced HR support, too.
Hi there! I’m Lisa Lindsey, the founder of Peale Piper. I am a human resources consultant and executive coach who love nothing more than untangling a tricky people problem. I’ve worked in HR for over twenty years, including as a Chief People Officer for SKOUT Cybersecurity. My work spans startups, nonprofits, professional services, e-commerce, and law firms.
These days I spend my time serving as a fractional CHRO for small businesses and nonprofits.
I’m also building Peale Piper Academy for senior HR professionals, because in addition to doing the work I have a passion for supporting the professionals doing this work as well.
“We’re too small for HR.”
I’ve heard this sentiment time and time again over my career. Organizations will wait to add a formal HR function while they focus on everything else it takes to run the business. But they’re still hiring employees, making decisions about pay, and asking managers to handle difficult conversations.
And those decisions become part of how the organization works. When problems go unresolved, the next manager or HR leader inherits them. And I know from experience just how messy that can be.
I wanted small businesses to have access to experienced HR professionals as soon as possible. That’s why I started Peale Piper. As a consultant, I’ve made a deliberate choice to stay accessible to very small organizations, and I’m proud of that.
I also fundamentally believe that the majority of people problems in organizations can be prevented by paying attention to HR sooner.
Here’s a few things you’d learn about me over coffee, or better yet, tea!
I like to get past the small talk. I’m an introvert, so I enjoy conversations that get to something deeper pretty quickly.
I’m quite nomadic. I love to travel and learn about different places and cultures. I’ve been to 20 countries so far and Sao Jorge Island in the Azores, is currently my favorite place I’ve visited.
I’m driven to learn more about how we understand ourselves. I’ve taken just about every personality assessment that exists and while I don’t really remember all of my results, I’m interested in them as tools of analysis.
I take my work seriously, but I believe in having fun. I try to leave you with something to smile or laugh about during our conversations.
“Lisa is amazing.
A CEO’s dream!”
